Rachael Mitchell Growing up in Fort Worth, Texas; Rachael Mitchell started dancing at 3 years old at a local studio but at the age of 5 she began more serious training at Marina Almayeva’s School of Classical Ballet in Colleyville, Texas. After studying Vaganova for 7 years, she then studied ballet privately with Dorian Heijny who introduced and taught Balachine. She has attended Burklyn Ballet’s Summer Intensives in Johnson, Vermont where she performed pieces choreographed by Thom Clower, Joanne Whitehill, as well as several student choreographies. She has performed many classical ballets such as Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, and Coppelia to name a few. Rachael started dancing with Ballet North Texas in 2018, where she was invited to join their Trainee Program from 2019-2020. In December of 2020, Rachael was promoted to Apprentice with the company and in 2022 promoted to Company.While dancing with BNT she has had the privilege of performing “Trio in A Minor“ in Night on the Trinity and “Mizrah“ choreographed by Nicolina Lawson. Along with other cherished ballets such as Sleeping Beauty, Midsummer Night's Dream, Cinderella, and The Nutcracker. For the 2023-2024 season, Rachael will be going on tour with PACE ballet to perform the beloved classic Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake.
